One of our clients had been looking to allow Teams calls though Windows Virtual Desktop (WVD). Whilst WVD it’s great out of the box, this default set up isn’t going to work for everyone.
To enable Audio and Camera redirection we need to open a PowerShell session and connect to the Tennant.
First, we need to install the WVD Module. Run Powershell as admin and use the following command.
Install-Module -Name Microsoft.RDInfra.RDPowerShell
You may also need to import the WVD Module
Import-Module -Name Microsoft.RDInfra.RDPowerShell
Next we connect and authenticate, log in with your Azure portal credentials
Add-RdsAccount -DeploymentUrl “https://rdbroker.wvd.microsoft.com”
From here we can create a custom RDP file, we can change folder redirection, enable audio redirection etc etc
The command below will enable camera and audio redirection from the local device
Set-RdsHostPool -TenantName “wvd.ie” -Name “WVDPool” -CustomRdpProperty “audiomode:i:0;audiocapturemode:i:1; camerastoredirect:s:*;devicestoredirect:s:*”
If you are not sure of your HostPool name run get-rdshostpool -TennantName WVD.IE
